Management

Willem Dijkstra is responsible for the company's systems architecture and strategic direction. Willem has extensive experience in distributed system development, integration and large-scale networks. Willem is an active member of the RIMBAA Working Group of the HL7 standards organization. After co-founding DD&H with Yeb, Willem joined KPN Research, where he designed and implemented telecommunications services for defense, law enforcement, and the general public. He then served as senior consultant at TNO, a consultancy, where he conducted security assessments for ISPs and Telecoms. He also designed new communications applications and protocols. Most notable among the latter: a new communications platform and protocol for the deaf, and a signaling gateway for circuit switched video for use in telecom core networks. Willem holds a Master’s degree in computer science. |

Yeb Havinga is responsible for developing the company's vision for medical database technology. Yeb brings almost 20 years of database and software engineering expertise, with a focus on formal methods and medical informatics. Yeb is also an active member of the RIMBAA Working Group of the HL7 standards organization. Before co-founding MGRID, Yeb was a software architect at Portavita, where he was technical lead of the company's award-winning flagship product: the largest online Electronic Health Record in the Netherlands. Before joining Portavita, Yeb co-founded DD&H, where he was the technical director and pioneered database-driven websites. His professional software engineering career started at Mediacenter Automatisering, where he developed for IBM's AS/400 database system. Yeb holds a Master’s degree in computer science and has also completed several courses from the MSc in Logic and MSc in Medical Informatics at the University of Amsterdam. |

Evert Jan Hoijtink is co-founder and advisor of MGRID. He attended the Dutch School of Higher Education where he studied economics and management. After working as an industrial accountant at AkzoNobel, he worked primarily in the IT industry. Previous positions include sales representative at Honeywell-Bull, Account Manager and Senior Consultant at CapGemini, and Director of eCommerce at Oracle EMEA. He is CEO at Portavita BV and Managing Partner of E3Ventures BV. In his role as Vice Chairman of OIZ, the Dutch Branch organization for IT suppliers in the health industry, Evert Jan is responsible for portfolio standardization. He is also a member of the Policy Committee BC303/HealthIT of the NEN, the Dutch Chapter of ISO. His core competencies are business development, IT architecture, standardization, and entrepreneurship. |
